All of Community Adoption Center, Inc.'s
social workers are highly trained and knowledgeable in adoption with
over 15 years experience. Many have adopted children themselves and
therefore have personally experienced the process and are empathetic to
both the adoptive families as well as the birth families.
Kim Garner (President)
Kim has been passionate about adoption since she was young, and after
she married her husband, Wes, they began to adopt children. There first
daughter was born in Vietnam, they then had a son by birth, adopted a
girl domestically and a boy from Ethiopia. After becoming an adoption
advocate and serving as Vice President of OURS Through Adoption support
group, she decided to make her passion her work. Kim believes it is
every child's right to have a loving and nurturing home. She also has
amazing respect and admiration for the birthmothers who make the
difficult choice to place their children for adoption. Kim hopes to
help others understand adoption and to realize what a precious gift it
is.
Laurie Resch (Executive Director)
In 1992, Laurie received her bachelor's degree from the University of
Wisconsin-Green Bay in Psychology and Human Development. In
1994, Laurie received her Master's Degree in Social Work from the
University.
Elayne Martin (Social Worker)
Elayne Martin has been employed by CAC for over 21 years. As a social
worker, she enjoys working with and helping birthparents who are
considering an adoption placement, as well as completing home studies
for prospective adoptive families. She has raised five children, 3
biological and 2 adopted. She has 13 grandchildren; the youngest
grandson is 11 years old. She has 3 grandsons in high school and 3 in
college. Her 2 granddaughters are both continuing their education. Her
extended family includes her parents, 7 sisters, 1 brother and many
nieces and nephews. Her hobbies include drawing, painting, making
pottery, quilting, travel and playing golf.
Linda Troyer (Social Worker)
Linda Troyer has been with the agency as a certified social worker for
the past 18 + years. In addition, she is a wife to Michael and mother
of four adult adoptees, Matt, Kira, Jenna, and Tom. Her other
experiences in adoption include having been on the regional
guardianship case review panel for the Department of Child and Family
Services, state special needs adoption program for many years. Also,
she is co-founder of the OURS through Adoption support group and a
co-founder of the Adoption Options Conference. Her areas of expertise
include working with families who adopt children past the age of
infancy and children who are adopted internationally or who are of
other ethnicities.
Cynthia Jensen (Social Worker)
As a Certified Social Worker, Cindy's has had the pleasure of helping
to build families at Community Adoption Center for over 17 years. She
is interested in adoptive legislative reform and participated on a
legislative task force in the past regarding establishment of a
punitive father registry for Wisconsin. Cindy is married and between
her husband and herself, have five grown children--three by birth and
two by adoption. In her free time she enjoys reading, shopping,
gardening, walking, making jewelry, watching movies, travel and
spending time with loved ones.
Brianne P. Fick (Social Worker)
Brianne Fick is a graduate of St. Norbert College, Class of 2007.
She has always had a passion for social work and enjoys working
with both birth and adoptive parents. Brianne and her fiance,
Justin, are currently busy planning their wedding for the summer
of 2009. After Brianne's recent trip to Ethiopia, she and
Justin are looking forward to adoption in the future. Brianne is
very close to her family, which includes her parents, three younger
sisters, grandmothers, aunts, uncles, and 16 cousins. In her free
time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading,
following the Green Bay Packers, and learning about different traditions
and cultures.
Jennifer Bozich (Social Worker)
Jenny was previously employed by CAC from 1995-1999, and at that time,
worked with both birthparents and adoptive families. She received
her MSW from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1999 and went to
work for the Milwaukee County Birth to Three program providing case
management for children with special needs and their families.
Since 2003, Jenny has been a full time, stay-at-home mother to
her two young children, Brynn Ann Brady. In 2007, Jenny
returned to CAC and is currently the post placement supervision worker
in the Milwaukee area. Jenny is thrilled to be back with the
agency and really enjoys working with families during such an exciting
and special time in their adoption process.
